All dogs must be handed over for mobile grooming or brought into the salon on a lead, this is to ensure safety for themselves and others.
At McKinnons Dogwash and Grooming we do not subject dogs to the painful process of de-matting. If your dog is matted we will need to do a full shave removal as this is the least traumatic experience for your dog. We will do our best to keep the coat as long as possible, however we will not do this at the expense of your dogs comfort or safety. NOTE: a matted dog fee will apply depending on severity.
Any dog entering a Mobile trailer or salon with fleas will have a mandatory flea wash NOTE: Flea wash fee will apply
Muzzles of all sizes are used at our discretion as a last resort. This is for our safety and the muzzle will be used for brief periods only. We at McKinnons specialise in the retraining and rehabilitation of difficult to groom dogs. We are highly skilled and only our senior experienced staff work with these dogs. All precautions are taken and no dog is subjected to muzzling unless absolutely necessary. Sedatives are never used during our services and we ask clients to avoid sedating their dogs prior to us attending to services for them.
McKinnons Dogwash and Grooming reserves the right to cease services at any point during the grooming process if it is deemed unsafe to the groomer or your dog to continue with the service. We will always rebook your dog in at the earliest possible time to complete the service once your pet has had a break from a possibly stressful situation. McKinnons Dogwash and Grooming reserve the right to charge for any work completed at the time of service completion.
24 hours notice must be given if your dog is unable to make their appointment. Cancellations or no-shows are subject to a $25 fee for each dog booked for service. This is payable before your next appointment can be booked.
Prices are subject to change depending on time between grooms, your dogs coat condition, behaviour and needs.
It is recommended that you keep visits with McKinnons Dogwash and Grooming every 4-6 weeks to ensure optimal coat and skin health and avoid excess charges
Dogs with behavioural or temperamental needs will be first assessed by senior staff and a recommendation will be made regarding frequency of service to ensure successful rehabilitation.
